Statement of Faith & Values

Statement of faith

As a classical Christian school, we hold to the following statement of faith:

  • We believe that the Bible is the authoritative and infallible word of God, useful for teaching all things pertaining to life and faith. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

  • We believe that there is One God who exists eternally as three persons, co-equal and co-eternal Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is creator, sovereign, omnipotent (all powerful), omnipresent (all present) and omniscient (all knowing).

  • We believe that God has revealed Himself through creation, and more clearly through His word, the Bible. (Romans 1:19-20)

  • We believe that Jesus Christ is God, that He was born of the virgin Mary, that He lived a sinless life and humbled Himself to the point of death, which He endured for us and for our salvation. (Philippians 2:6-11)

  • We believe that on the third day, Jesus physically rose from the dead, we believe He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father, from which He will return to judge the living and the dead. (Hebrews 9:27-28)

  • We believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is necessary, who has been given for guidance in all truth.

  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit who indwells the Christian and equips the body for life and ministry.

  • We believe that salvation is by grace through faith alone.

  • We believe that faith without works is dead.

  • We believe that God created each human as distinctly male and female, who together reflect the image and nature of God (Gen. 1:26-31; 2:18-25; 5:1, 2). They are distinct and complementary, and to reject one’s biological design is to reject part of the image of God within the person, and is a sin.

  • We believe that God created and ordained marriage to be between one man and one woman exclusively (Gen. 2:24; Matt. 19:4-6).

  • We believe that God designed and intends sexual intimacy to be between husband and wife alone. Any form of sexual intimacy outside this boundary is sinful (1 Cor. 6:15-7:6; Eph. 5:3-7).

  • We believe in the sanctity of all human life, created as it is in the image of God. We are called to protect, defend and value all human life in every stage from fertilisation to natural death.

values

We aim to provide a Christ-centred education that is based upon the following values:

  • Everything we do is for the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31)

  • Everything we do and teach is aligned to the teachings of Scripture.

  • Christ is at the centre of our curriculum.

  • We recognise the parent’s primary position to raise their children and that it is the school’s role to support them in this role.

  • Our teachers and leaders are practising Christians.

  • Character growth is just as important as academic development.

  • We value each child individually, and so we aim to cultivate relationships not statistics.

  • We value and nurture each child’s discipleship and call to mission.
