We have a variety of ministries, each one allowing us to grow together and reach out to the community we are based in. Many of the weekly projects that are run at New Hope Christian Centre are organised in partnership with Community Action Norwich.
Children and Youth Ministry
Our children and youth ministry is run on a Thursday night. We have an average of 40 people who come down and enjoy singing, dancing, stories, games, cooking and discussions. This is a chance for the kids to learn more about God and the Bible.
Our youth discuss cultural topics with our youth leader prompting a Christian perspective into their secular worldviews.
We are currently splitting into 4 groups to be in line with the government guidelines regarding COVID 19 with 30 minutes in between to enable us to clean the areas used.
Thursday 5-6.00pm; 6:30pm-7:30pm
Sunday worship is the centre of life at The Christian Fellowship. We meet as family, worship and encounter our God together (Matt 18:20). The service begins with sung worship, focusses on teaching from the Bible and has a strong emphasis on prayer and the work of the Holy Spirit.
Every week from 10:15am - 12:15pm
Meeting together outside of a Sunday morning is an important aspect of the church life. Our cell groups offer the chance for fellowship, prayer, and mutual teaching. As insights, scripture and experiences are shared, we seek to train Christians up for Spiritual Warfare and to stand firm rather than simply teaching on a Sunday.
Our Friday night prayer meeting has been running for 30 years now. Every week we intercede for the community of Lakenham and pray in faith for revival in this city. Starting with worship, scriptures are read, people have prophesied and we are steadfast and immovable in the work God has called us to, knowing it is not in vain.
Community Action Norwich
Formed in 1999, Community Action Norwich is an umbrella organisation for the social work of a the local free church in the Lakenham area. Our good working relationships with the local schools, churches, statutory agencies and other care related projects means that we are able to offer an excellent range of programs for children, young people and seniors across the local community.
Hope café is open every Wednesday from 10am until 2pm. We have a mix of people come and join us for coffee and cake (and the odd bacon buttie). Everything is free but there is a donation box if you wish to contribute to the work of the café.
Closed due to COVID
