Ann is busy in the garden
Summer is a very busy time of year on the allotment and families are enjoying seasonal produce which is organically grown. Ann Hobday is the programme supervisor and is very experienced in growing fruit, vegetables and flowers. She has developed a ‘wildlife’ area and holds mornings for children in the summer. They are packed with fun activities which include snail races, competitions, quizzes and learning how to grow vegetables. One young girl has discovered the joy of growing things and has chosen to go on a Full time course to Easton college with a view to market gardening as a career. Ann is delighted as we have just been awarded vouchers to the value of £250 for the allotment, from B & Q through their ‘One Planet Living Grant Scheme. We would like to say thank you to B&Q, Ann has spent the vouchers on a hose.
