Roast Dinners, entertainment and outings too...
We now run the Lakenham day centre two days a week on 
Tuesdays and Thursdays. Morning activities include scrabble
and card playing tables, others prefer to read the papers or chat with friends over coffee and biscuits. The lunch is cooked by a chef who is proud of his home cooking based on locally sourced meat and vegetables. The menus are varied although roast dinners are always a favourite with the diners, a vegetarian option is available when booked in advance. The afternoon entertainment ranges from musical items, armchair exercises to quizzes or Bingo and talks on subjects of special interest.
Four outings are planned each year and the uptake of these is immediate. A recent successful outing included a visit to the Theatre followed by a meal at the Assembly House. Georgina Dalton manages our elderly services and is loved by all the clients. Her care for them is outstanding. They all receive a weekly phone call, visits when sick and a cake on their birthday! |
