Community Action Norwich Annual Report
I am so pleased to be able to report on significant development in all our projects over this past year . Our Project Team Managers have worked so hard and led the way for growth we have experienced.
Clare Elkins is an excellent manager and leads our work with children. Her enthusiasm and love for the children means she is held in high esteem by children, volunteers and staff alike. Clare has been working with us for over eight years and her long term commitment brings stability and strength to the work which we value very much. Pete Tyson is our youth worker. His passion energy and dare I say eccentricity? bring a delightful breath of fresh air to our work with teenagers whom he understands and relates to with great skill.
Alan Howes has steered the Day Centre through it’s first year, and we have gained a reputation for treating our service users with love and respect. The lunch club is well known for the quality of the meals they serve. The four outings planned each year are well subscribed to and add greatly to the quality of life for some of the older folk in the community. We have a great staff and I want to say a big ‘Thank you’ to Alan, Rita and the team for a job well done.
Another pleasing development is the use of Community Action Norwich by other voluntary and statutory agencies for training purposes. Several people have been placed with us on ‘Back to Work’ schemes. We are also part way through our first level one placement with the school of social work at the University of East Anglia and this is going very well.
We are privileged to have such a committed and well qualified staff team, and alongside them work an amazing group of volunteers. Your hard work and love for the client group has gained us the growing reputation in the community for the quality of the care we offer. On behalf of the Trustees, I must also thank the funders and personal supporters, we appreciate your trust in us and the work we do.
We have a growing number of partners with whom we share best practice and aim to develop standards of excellence. We continue to show God’s love in action by serving unconditionally the people in this community, who deserve the very best.
