Monty's visit touched our hearts

Monty burst upon us like a breath of fresh air from the Lord. A professional musician with a lovely singing voice he took us to places in our worship of the Lord we hadn't been before. People were kneeling, sitting and standing with hands in the air and hearts deeply stirred as they lifted their voices to God in praise. He commented “There is a great hunger for God here.”

Monty is a very natural person who just loves leading people into the presence of the Lord. He is empathetic to people out of his personal experience, there is a warmth which communicates person to person. He spoke to the church about the Fatherhood of God and illustrated his talk with a liberal sprinkling of personal stories of his own relationship with his father. Many folk spoke with him after the meeting. He touched our hearts.

During the Sunday meetings which he led he sang prophecies over several people. Monty sang over Duane Elkins at the Sunday evening meeting. Duane felt “excited and humbled” by the prophecy. He had just been praying “Lord speak to me!” When Monty began to minister to him. Joy Cresswell said about his prophecy to her, “It was awesome to have God speak to me and to know he cares so much.”

Mark Watson of City Church where Monty also visited to work with their musicians and minister one Sunday morning said ,“I hope we can continue our relationship with Monty. We gained a lot from his visit.” Duane and Monty spoke of the possibility of a deepening relationship between Monty and the church he is on the staff of in San Antonio, Texas, USA and New Hope. Many folk who met Monty would certainly echo that hope.
